An improved apparatus of the above de scription has been invented by John Power, of Brooklyn, N. Y., who has taken measures to secure a patent. The improvement consists in the use ot an elastic coupling for joining a flexible tube of any material that conducts the gas from the ordinary burner to a port i-ble article of the same kind. The coupling is compressed tightly between two metallic discs, and has a hole in its centre to allow of the insertion of differently sized bur::ersj which are held firmly in their place by the ibove-mentioned means.
