A new pump has been patented by its inventor, Washburn Kace, of Seneca Falls, N. Y., which belongs to that class ofpumps in which an oscillating or rocking piston is employed, the water being discharged through a hollow central shaft. The improvement consists in ausing the wedge which holds the two lower alves in place to serve also as a packing for he oscillating shaft, and in causing the lower ralves, in the act of tripping, to strike against he pendulous valve and trip that also.
