A synchrotron is a high powered x-ray generator, running 24 hours day and night to provide high-frequency light beams for scientific research. In order not to waste any time or money the researchers make full use of every second they are allotted. Nature Video spends a day and a night at the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility to reveal the science that never sleeps.
